Chennai records 90.76 pass percentage

Chennai district recorded a pass percentage of 90.76, the results of the higher secondary examinations declared on Monday.
Government Schools (21) - 84.92 %
Corporation Schools (30) - 86.3%
Adi Dravidar Welfare Schools(2) - 84%
AIded Schools(99) - 88.20%
Unaided(53) - 95.28
Matriculation Schools(192) - 94.77
Anglo Indian(16) - 96.18%
The lone State topper from Chennai – Jayapradha V.R. of Vidyodaya Matriculation Higher Secondary School, T. Nagar, who scored 1,190 with French as first language.
Sri Ahobila Math Oriental Higher Secondary School had more than half-a-dozen subject-wise toppers. R. Eashwar (1,187) secured a rank in Sanskrit and all the three top rankers in Statistics are from the school.
D.A.V Higher Secondary School, Gopalapuram, which was expecting at least seven students in the toppers` list, was disappointed. Sruthi Ganesh scored 1,188 and was the State second ranker in Sanskrit. K. Akshaya of DAV Higher Secondary School, Choolaimedu scored 1,185 and a State rank in English.
