Schools and colleges in Chennai will be closed on Monday due to heavy rains. Chennai District Collector made the announcement to the effect. In addition, schools and colleges in Cuddalore, Tiruvallur, Vellore, Tiruvannamalai, and Villupuram districts will also remain closed.
Schools in Dharmapuri, Thoothukudi, Tanjore, Trichy, Ariyalur, Pondicherry and Karaikkal will remain closed today.
According to the Meteorological Department, coastal areas in Tamil Nadu will see heavy rains in the next few days.
