Facebook extends baby leave to countries worldwide regardless of gender

Posted on: 29/Nov/2015 11:10:01 AM
Facebook has announced that it will extend its parental leave policy worldwide from January 1, 2016. The announcement comes right after the company`s Chief Executive Mark Zuckerberg announced that he would take 2 months paternity leave after the birth of his child.

The new policy will provide paid leave for 4 months and will apply to all employees regardless of gender or location. Employees are allowed to take up to a year`s leave after the birth of their child.

An official from Facebook said, We want to be there for our people at all stages of life, and in particular we strive to be a leading place to work for families. An important part of this is offering paid parental or baby leave. The new policy will primarily help new fathers and employees in same-sex relationships outside the United States, noting that it will not change maternity leave already available to employees worldwide.
