Heavy rains lashes Chennai and its suburbs last night

Last night there were heavy rains in Chennai and its suburbs. Heavy rains pounded T Nagar, Chepauk, Adyar, Guindy, Saidapet, Nungambakkam and Koyambedu last night.
Similarly there was heavy rains in suburbs like Tambaram, Ambattur, Tiruvottiyur and Ennore. In some areas there were mild showers. During the day time, there were showers in many parts of Chennai. For the last one week, heavy lashed the entire Tamil Nadu. At a time when rains have come to a halt, the rains have started once again.
People who are dwindling in the rain crisis have now become very scary because of the new rains. The North-East monsoon is now being anchored by a low-pressure area over Lakshadweep in South-East Arabian Sea as a counterpart low in the Bay of Bengal crumbled on Thursday. So there are chances of rains in Tamil Nadu and Puducherry in the next 24 hours. Schools in Nilgiris District have been closed today.
