Indira Gandhis birth anniversary on Thursday, nation pays tribute

Former Prime Minister of India Late Indira Gandhi`s 98th birth anniversary fell on Thursday. Top political leaders joined the nation in paying tribute to her.
Many people visited her memorial at the Shakthi Steal in New Delhi. President Pranab Mukherjee and Vice President Hamid Ansari were among the first few to pay their tributes. Congress President Sonia Gandhi, Congress Party leader Rahul Gandhi and Former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh paid floral tributes, along with other party members.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi tweeted, Tributes to Indira ji on her birth anniversary.
Across the country, functions were held to highlight Ms. Gandhi`s contribution to the nation.
