Central government approves construction of 2932 houses under the House for all scheme

A meeting was conducted under the chairmanship of the Secretary of the ministry of Central Housing Facility & removal of urban poverty by the central cabinet approval & monitoring committee between the various ministries.
Various proposals submitted by the state governments were scrutinized during this meeting.
At the end of the meeting, approval was sanctioned for the construction of 228204 houses for the poor people in 5 states including Tamil Nadu.
Out of this, 217747 houses are reserved for economically backward section. The balance houses are reserved for the people of low-income group.
Central government will provide the financial assistance of Rs. 1.50 Lakhs for each house constructed. The total fund is Rs. 3.231 Crores.
The concerned states will provide the land for construction of these houses.
Construction of 2932 houses is approved for Tamil Nadu. These houses will be constructed in 3 cities.
