Home Ministry Information: 906 IPS posts vacant!!

The Ministry of Home Affairs of the central government has informed that there are 906 posts vacant in IPS.
There are 4754 IPS posts throughout the country. Only 3848 persons are now employed in IPS.
The latest statistics released by the ministry of Home Affairs reveals that 906 IPS posts are still to be filled up from January.
Out of this, in the state of Uttar Pradesh alone, the maximum of 517 IPS posts exits out of which 129 IPS posts are yet to be filled up.
There are 98 posts in West Bengal, 79 posts in Odisha, 67 posts in Maharashtra, 59 posts in Karnataka, and 53 posts in Union territories yet to be filled up in IPS cadre.
