ART AIDS... A charity art show in aid of care, education and shelter for children affected & infected with HIV/AIDS organized by People AIDS Initiative.
art aids� is an exclusive limited edition series art collection gathered through the generous support of artists who have offered them for free to raise funds for the shelter of children affected and infected with HIV/AIDS. Affordable prints on board are made from the original for people to buy especially hand-signed and numbered by the contributing artists. All the sale proceeds go for the care, education and shelter of these children.
The works of these artists is marked by a diversity of visual language which makes it visually exciting and offers textural interest. Post Madras Art Movement, artists in Chennai have forged ahead with different medium, materials, techniques, and concepts that has changed the texture of art making in this metro. Within this context of essential changes, the perceptions of the artists have equally come to bear upon their lived realities producing art expressions that can be read as a case of significant conceptualization.
60 pieces of gallery quality artwork will be featured and exhibited at Apparao Galleries, Chennai, between Thu 27th Jan�11 to Wed 2nd Feb�11. The exhibition will be inaugurated at 6.00 p.m. on Thursday 27th January 2011. The participating artists who have contributed their originals are Trotsky Marudu, Mark Rathinaraj and K. R. Santhana Krishnan; and images are Farhan Mujib, Niloufer Seth Siddharth, P. G. Dinesh, George K, N. Ramachandran, Bhavna Sonawane, and Suresh Kumar.
