GOVERNMENT TO INDUCT MORE 108� AMBULANCES

M R K Paneerselvam, State health minister announced that the government has planned to induct 260 more 108` ambulances. These additional ambulances will enable public in the state more accessibility and quickly, in about five minutes.
This will add to the existing fleet of 350 ambulance fans in the state. This was announced in the assembly in response to question by a member. The minister added that the government was contemplating introduction of mobile test lab for blood sugar and blood pressure.
The state government has signed a MoU with Emergency Management and Research Institute`s (EMRI) in May 2008 to facilitate this service which was launched by the chief minister M Karunanidhi in September 2008.
