Bus Fares in private operations shoot up hurdle

As the summer vacation finally comes to an end and the schools and colleges are resuming, there seems to be a high demand for bus tickets, which has created a boom for the unauthorised bus operators to create their own high fares for the buses across the state of Chennai. This over-charging of tickets that is almost against double the normal charges has been creating a huge havoc for passengers. Says one of the passengers, �It usually happens that we tend to book a Volvo Bus for a double rate, but at the end, it�s just disappointment to find that we are travelling in a ordinary bus and sometimes seated on a plastic chair between the rows.�
Although, there are certain raids happening now and then, Madurai North RTO K Kalyana Sundaram mentions that although the raid have been concurrently happening, this cannot be really put an end as the Government hasn�t fixed any proper fixed rates for the private buses. In fact, this is a major reason behind such unauthorized operators having a big time of overcharging through the online booking websites.
