MADRAS UNIVERSITY TO SET UP PLACEMENT COMMITTEE

Madras University is setting up a core committee which will consist of Principals of 100 colleges to monitor placement of Students.
Out of Ten Principals who represent the core committee, five will be from City Colleges and Five from colleges in rural areas. The aim of the committee will be to improve the links of the Institutions with the Industry and improving the scope for placement and counseling the students. The committee will, thereby, work towards improving the employability of students.
The committee will sit once in a month to discuss the strategies to improve placements in the University and the colleges situated outside Chennai. The constitution and responsibilities of the committee was charted in the two-day orientation programme for academic administrators of colleges
