CHENNAI BETTER THAN MUMBAI IN COMPETITIVENESS

Knowledge work force and infrastructure are among the important elements that make Chennai better than Mumbai in the City Competitiveness Rankings, from no. 4 last year to no. 2 this year.
The report by the Institute for Competitiveness (IFC), New Delhi, says Chennai has overtaken Bangalore in the rankings and edged out Mumbai for the second spot. Delhi continues to hold its rank as the most competitive city to do business in the country. The report bases its rankings on infrastructure, business environment and about 800 other indicators, taken from data released by various government departments. Fifty Indian cities were included in the report.
