Chennai Meteorological Centre: Heavy rains expected!

Followed by the recent oppressively hot weather in the last few weeks, there has been widespread rain in Tamil Nadu in the past 2 days. It rained quite heavily in a few places.
A maximum rainfall of 120 mm was recorded in Hosur.
A depression has formed in the Southeast direction of Bay of Bengal.
Heavy rains are expected in the districts of Ramanatapuram, Thirunelveli, Tuticorin. Kanyakumari, Sivagangai, Virudhunagar, Theni, Dinigul, and Madurai.
In other places in Tamil Nadu, light to medium rain is expected.
Chennai will have a cloudy day. It may rain in some parts of the city.
