Mahalir Mela 2015 inaugurated

Sale -cum-exhibition showcasing products of self-help groups from various districts was organized by Tamil Nadu Corporation for Development of Women at Mother Teresa Women�s Complex in Nungambakkam. The State-level expo was inaugurated by Thiru S.P. Velumani, Minister for Municipal Administration, Rural Development, Law, Courts and Prisons on Friday.
The exhibitions are held thrice every year at the complex, during Chithirai, Christmas-Pongal and Navarathri.
There are 55 stalls in this expo. Mats, towels, sarees, Kanchi cotton, jute products, churidar material, handicrafts, nature-friendly disposable plates, thinai arisi and different types of lentils for the health conscious and pickles, cashews and fruit syrup, lace products, dining table runners, tea coasters, table cloth, artificial jewellery, bags and decorative articles made by the by self-help groups are sold in these stalls.
The expo will be up to 17th May. The expo will be opened from 10.30 AM to 8.30 PM.
