NEW BRIDGE ON ADYAR RIVER

Vellakoil Saminathan Highways Minister inaugurated the work to construct a bridge across the Adyar river on Wednesday. Chennai Mayor M.Subramanian was present. The work for the construction of three-lane Bridge parallel to the Thiru Vi Ka Bridge across the Adyar River commenced on Wednesday.

The bridge will be of 333 meters long and 11 meters wide at an estimated cost of Rs 13 crores. The new bridge will come in between the present bridge and the old abandoned bridge.

The Mayor M Subramanian in his speech said that the corporation will initiate efforts to widen Durgabai Deshmukh Road,

The Minister informed the media that work on the bridge in Moolakadai-Perambur junction would commence at an estimated cost of Rs.49.55 crore and the flyover-cum-subway project on Nelson Manickam Road-Periyar EVR Salai junction would commence in January and February respectively.

The Minister further said that the work on the flyover-cum-subway project at the Thirumangalam junction would commence in 10 days and is scheduled to be completed in 15 months.
