Nil response for reimbursement towards RTE act, schools disappointed

Posted on: 02/Apr/2015 5:14:53 PM
Tamil Nadu seems to show signs of being worse with its compliance to RTE act as it shows just 11.3 per cent admission in the academic year 2013-14. The hard fact here is this per cent may still go down the coming year. According to these schools, they might not be able to admit students unless they are given with necessary reimbursement and the unpaid dues are cleared.

K.R.Nandha Kumar, the secretary of Tamil Nadu Nursery, Primary , Matriculation and Higher Secondary Schools Association says the association will get into discussions with the governor and the problems faced by the schools will be met, as they are not being given with the reimbursement for admitting students under RTE act. It is to be noted that this association includes CBSE schools as well.

Speaking about it, he says their association has requested to address the issue, but no response is received so far for the past three years. The issue was raised last year, and the government promised to sanction Rs 25 crore towards it. But nothing is done so far, he adds. Thousands of students were admitted under this act, but no reimbursement is received by the schools yet, he pointed.
