THE MADRAS HIGH COURT WILL PRINT ITS OWN MONTHLY CALENDAR FOR NEXT YEAR

While disposing of a Public Interest Petition filed through counsel P.Rathinam, petitioner R.Karunanidhi .The First Bench comprising Chief Justice M.Y.Eqbal and Justice T.S.Sivagnanam passed the order for printing separate calendars for Madras High Court.
It was to assuage the concern of the Public-spirited personalities such as retired judges, journalists, professors and leaders of various movements and women`s groups that the High court using the Calendars supplied by the Government created a wrong impression in the minds of the people that the judiciary was part and parcel of the government.
The annual calendar of the Madras High court will have monthly sheets showing court holidays.
