Velachery to St Thomas Mount MRTS line soon

Chennai Beach -Velachery MRTS line is being extended by 5 km to touch St Thomas Mount . The elevated line is being built along the median of Inner Ring Road for 3.5 km till Adambakkam to reach St Thomas Mount station.
The extension will benefit several thousands of commuters traveling every day from Tambaram to Beach and also to Mylapore,
Now passenger traffic on the Beach-Velachery MRTS line has increased from 70,000 to one lakh per day, may give a boost to the ongoing works to construct a 5 km elevated MRTS line from Velachery to St Thomas Mount
