94 Post offices in Tamil Nadu & Puducherry to have ATM facility!

The inauguration of the recently announced ‘Selvamagal saving scheme’ for girl children accents opening was conducted yesterday (11th February) at Pondicherry.
Mr. Mervyn Alexander. Tamil Nadu Regional Post Office Chief, participated and inaugurated.
He informed that the parents of girl children under the age of 10 can open an account paying Rs. 1000/-. A maximum amount of Rs. 1.50 Lakhs can be paid in a year. There is an option to get monthly payment of interest.
Payments can be made for 14 years from the start of the account.. Income-tax is exempted.
After the child reaches 15 years of age 50% of savings can be withdrawn for higher education, marriage, etc.

Currently, ATM facility is available in T Nagar post office in Chennai city. In the next 3 months, ATMs will be installed in 94 post offices in Tamil Nadu and Pondicherry.
