Increasing telephone connections in India

As per data obtained at the end of 2014, the total count of all mobile and land-line connections is more than 97 crore. There were about 96.40 crore connections as of November 2014 which then increased to 97.10 crore in December, says Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI).
With this, the total number of telephone connections has reached a milestone after the year 2012. In 2012, the total number of connections was 96.55 crore. Furthermore, unlike any other year, the total count of cell phone connections was 93.40 crore. Following this, in October 2014, the overall cell phone connections reached a new benchmark with 93.53 crores. During the same year, in December, the same count got hiked to 94.39 crores.
