Tamil Nadu Chief Minister urges Railway Minister to implement some proposals

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister has written a letter to Railway Minister to implement some important proposals including doubling of Chennai-Kanyakumari broad gauge.

In the letter he has mentioned, “The railway budget for the year 2015-16 is to be tabled soon. At this juncture some proposals of Tamil Nadu are submitted for your consideration in this budget. The State Government is confident that the Central government will favorably consider the proposals. It is requested  to provide adequate funds for 10 projects, including completion of doubling for Chennai-Kanyakumari line, Sriperumbudur-Guindy freight line, Chennai-Tuticorin freight corridor, Chennai-Madurai-Kanyakumari high speed passenger rail link, Madurai-Coimbatore high speed passenger rail link, Coimbatore-Chennai high speed passenger rail, Chennai-Bengaluru high speed rail link, Chennai-Bengaluru freight corridor, Avadi-Guduvancheri rail link and Avadi/Tiruvallur-Ennore port link. The total cost for all these 10 projects was around 1.88 lakh crore.”
