Chennai Meteorological Centre: Severe chillness to continue till 1st week of February!

Severe chillness is prevailing over the last few days throughout Tamil Nadu. Chennai city and its suburbs experienced continuous fog and snowfall till 9.00 AM yesterday (15th January).
An official from the Chennai Meteorological Centre explained that the phenomenon of snowfall and severe chillness is more prevalent in Northern states of India.
However, the chillness currently experienced in Tamil Nadu over the last few days will continue till the 1st week of February.
It will then reduce gradually in the subsequent days. This will make the onset of summer season.
The official also informed that the severity of the coming summer cannot be predicted as of now.
