Price up for Fridges & A/Cs!

The prices of household consumer items such as washing machines, air-conditioners, and refrigerators have gone up by 5%.
Most manufacturing companies, including Whirlpool, Panasonic, and Godrej have announced the revision in prices.
The companies explained that the price revision is due to the rise in raw materials coupled with the expiry of the Production Tax Concession.
The upward revision in prices will be applicable for the items made after 1st January.
The central government has withdrawn the Production Tax concession of 2 % given to the automobile & household consumer items manufacturers following its expiry on 31st December, 2014
