City-based Picture house Media Limited filed a petition in Madras High Court alleging violation of financial and commercial agreements between it and producers Aascar Films (Private) Ltd. Justice R Mahadevan granted the interim injunction and restrained Aascar Films Private Limited, its Directors V Ravichandran and D Ramesh Babu, besides Reliance Mediaworks Limited, from releasing the film till January 30 in any format and asked the litigating parties to settle the issues by arbitration in the meanwhile.
He issued notices to the producers and directed them to file their response by then.
Aascar Ravichandran has produced this high budgeted film I which has Vikram and Amy Jackson in the lead roles. Shankar has directed it. A R Rahman has composed the music. The film was supposed to be released on Pongal day.
