Price of pen-drives to double!

The department for taxing & monitoring imported items has informed that the pen drives imported from China are comparatively very low-priced.
The ministry of commerce has recommended imposing a tax of $ 3.12 per pen drive to offset the competitive pricing of Chinese pen-drives.
However, Indian Electronic Trade Association has protested this.
Still, it is gathered that the central government has planned to impose taxes of US $ 3.12 for pen drives from China & US $ 3.06 for pen drives from Taiwan.
This tax rise is about 160% more. The prices of pen drives will become double and also sales in the black market are likely to go up because of this measure.
