The central minister, Mr. Dharmendra Pradhan, inaugurated the new scheme of offering 5 kg LPG cooking gas cylinder at subsidised for people living BPL (Below Poverty Line).
The scheme was inaugurated at Bhuvaneswar, capital of Orissa.
The minister elaborated that the scheme would be useful for women. It will also reduce pollution. People under BPL can buy the 5 kg LPG cooking gas cylinder & regulator without any deposit.
Currently, 5 kg LPG cooking gas cylinder without subsidy is priced at Rs. 404/-. Under subsidy, the price will be Rs. 151/-.
