Potato & Tomato prices fall in Koyambedu Market!

The prices of tomato and potato have fallen in the Koyambdeu wholesale market in Chennai.
However, the prices of other vegetables such as okra (lady finger), ivy gourd (koavaikkai), and bitter gourd have increased.
Green Lima Beans (pachai mochai) season has started. Traditionally, green lima beans sales are high during the months of December & January (Tamil months � Margazhi & Thai). Last 5 year, green Lima Beans was sold at Rs. 40/- to R%s. 55/- per kg.
This year, this is being sold at Rs. 25/- per kg. 20 tons of green lima beans arrive everyday in Koyambedu from Thiruvannamalai, Kanchipuram, Karnataka, and Andhra.
The prices of greens (keerais) have also reduced in Koyambedu.
