E-Aadhaar can be printed online

Unique Identification Authority of India (UIAI) has answered frequently asked questions regarding Aadhaar and LPG.
In a press release, it has clarified that after registering biometric data, the status of processing / delivery can be obtained via SMS by sending the message �UID STATUS <14 digit EID number>� to the number 51969 or by calling the toll free customer care number 1800 300 1947 or by entering the details in the online status form at
Those who have not received their Aadhaar card even though the online status shows them as dispatched can download an e-copy of the Aadhaar card from the website https://eaadhaar.uidai.gov.in/.
To rectify or update details, an Aadhaar card holder can visit the nearest enrolment center with the relevant documents.
Aadhaar card is not compulsory for availing subsidy under the LPG subsidy scheme to be launched in January 2015.
