2 over-bridges in Vadapalani: project to start immediately!

2 over-bridges are to be built in the 100’ Road – Arcot Road junction in Vadapalani along the metro rail track.
Metro Rail project authorities have planned the project and expect to start by January.
Heavy traffic has been steadily increasing in the 100’ Road – Arcot Road junction. The 2 over bridges are built to reduce this traffic congestion to a great extent. The Department of Highways allotted Rs. 69.43 Crores and the project was announced to start.
Metro Rail moves in the elevated corridor crossing the 100’ Road. 2 over bridges are planned in the Vadapalani signal junction along the metro track on either side of the 100’ Road.
The tasks of land acquisition, road widening, and rain water drainage system have been completed.
As the 2 over bridges are to be built alongside the Metro tracks, this project has been entrusted to the metro Project authorities.
Metro tracks are at 16 metres high from the ground level. The over-bridges alongside will be 5.5’ high from the ground level.
The company, URC Constructions will carry out this project. The work has been initialised and the bridge construction activities will be speeded up from January.
