Chennaites to experience light showers today

There is a a trough of low pressure area over the southwest Bay of Bengal. This could bring mild showers in Chennai.
As in the previous rain spells this northeast monsoon, localities in south Tamil Nadu will have an edge over other parts of the State. S.R. Ramanan, director of Area Cyclone Warning Centre, said many places in the coastal areas, particularly in southern parts of the State, will get rain for one or two days. “Localities in delta districts may get heavy rains. Gusty surface winds will blow in Chennai,” he said.
