14 PRIMARY SCHOOLS OPENED, 12 PRIMARY SCHOOLS UPGRADED IN COIMBATORE DISTRICT

P. Umanath, Coimbatore District Collector, in a function held recently in the Collect orate to monitor the education for all scheme informed that the State Government has recently opened 14 primary schools and upgraded 12 others (.The School Education Department staff, as part of Sarva Siksha Abiyan – Education for all scheme identified differently abled children and offered necessary help right at their door step.
In the medical camp conducted, the staff had identified three children with critical illness, all of who were treated under the speciality treatment under a State Government scheme. Likewise, the staff had identified 3,875 dropout children and had facilitated their re-entry into schools. The Department had spent Rs. 1.52 crore for the purpose.
People`s representatives at various level and Education Department officials participated in the meeting.
