Chennaites to experience rains for another two days

The city finally woke up to the smell of wet earth and the familiar monsoon patter on Wednesday morning. According to the weatherman, showers are likely to continue till Friday.
S B Thampi, deputy director general of meteorology, regional meteorological centre, Chennai has mentioned, �The rain is likely to continue till December 12, following which there will be a lull. We can�t say for sure if this will be the last spell of rain this monsoon as forecast is only done for the following five days,�
The MET department has forecasted intermittent rain in some areas. Rain can be expected on Thursday and the maximum temperature may inch up to 29�C while the minimum will remain the same.
The Met office and weather experts said the monsoon would begin to withdraw by mid-December.
