Light lamps using unused laptop batteries

Posted on: 08/Dec/2014 3:02:46 PM
It has been found in a research that lamps can be lit up in the houses of villages using the batteries from unused laptop.

Indian researchers in IBM recently have discovered that unused batteries from old laptops are more than sufficient to light the lamps of villages in the developing countries. One discarded battery has the capacity to light up a bulb four hours per day for a complete year. This is because people discard the batteries before they are fully dead.

Moreover, by attaching solar panels with these batteries, low priced electricity can be produced. According to IBM India, more than 5 crore laptop batteries are being discarded yearly worldwide and these batteries can become a good source of electricity to villages in the developing countries.
