Govt employees get 50% advance for housing loan

Employees of the secretariate in Chennai have got a bonanza with the government acceding to the association`s demand for increasing the grant of advance for purchasing of housing land.As per a government order issued on Wednesday, employees of the secretariate, who wish to avail themselves of a loan to purchase land for constructing a house, will get 50% of the total cost as advance. At present, the employees are eligible only for 20% of the total cost as advance.
