As compared to the last 2 years, the effect of North-east monsoon this year has been double leading to the reservoirs getting filled.
89 dams in Tamil Nadu have filled up to 90% capacity. This is a record.
Last year, the failure of North-east monsoon led to drought conditions in most districts.
