At some point of time, each one of us would have desired to know who is calling our number. That�s obvious. The call may be from your very own friend, a nuisance call or that from a customer support executive. They try penetrating your cell phones even if you�ve registered with the so called �Do not disturb� scheme.
Now, there is something too clever with a mobile app called �True Caller� heading from people of Sweden. When this app is installed on your phone, it will tell you who is making you the call � never mind whether it is from a mobile phone or a landline.
This lets you have access to spammers and allows immediate blocking of their calls. But, wonder how it functions! True caller does that by trawling through various social media sites and other crowd-sourced information available in cyber space that has a name to respective numbers.
According to the experience of one of the True Caller users, the app identifies the person almost half the time, and during the remaining half, the app doesn�t show the caller information.
Apart from this, there is a web portal called site2sms which claims that any mobile number when fed in their site will provide the subscriber�s name, location, service provider along with the type of service they are using.
