Apple phones prone to malware

A new type of malware has been discovered by Palo Alto Network that could affect Apple mobile device in thousands, mostly in China.
 
This malware has been called ‘WireLurker’ by the cybersecurity provider. The officials of the company stated that it tends to monitor those devices that are connected to the infected computer via USB cable, and gets the malicious applications to be installed in the device. It has been stealing information all types from the mobile devices, however, the objective of the creator is yet to be clear. It collects significant information from large volumes of Mac OS and Chinese iOS systems, therefore, not clearly stating the motive behind it.
 
According to a senior official, it is a very different type of malware and targets Apple’s OS X and iOS systems. He further stated that the wrong people had been getting much more sophisticated for exploiting the best mobile platforms and desktop of the world.
 
WireLurker malware according to researchers, infects first the Mac computer that utilizes OS X system and gets installed in iPhones or iOS devices, iPads, as soon they are connected via USB ports to computers.
 
A 3rd party Chinese app store affected with 467 infected applications was regarded to be the source of the malware.
