Intermittent showers will continue in the city

The Meteorological Department has mentioned that there will be intermittent showers will continue in the city and its suburbs till Wednesday. The reason for this is attributed the current rain spell to the trough of low pressure area lying over southwest Bay of Bengal and adjoining Sri Lanka. On Monday, Nungambakkam and Meenambakkam registered nearly 3 cm and 1 cm of rainfall respectively till 8.30 a.m. However, in the city for the large part of the day, there were only a gentle drizzle and murky skies.
