IRCTC will set up food plazas at three MRTS stations by March 2015.
Tenders for the plazas at Thirumayilai, Thiruvanmiyur and Velachery stations were floated on April 2014.
�Due to various reasons, there were no takers for the sites. Retendering process is on,� said V Sriram, regional director, IRCTC, south zone in a statement in response to the report, �Halt, Shop, Go: Biz Plans Needed� which was published on October 27 in these columns.
�Southern Railway is offering full cooperation to make the projects a success. It is unacceptable that floor plans were unavailable. Without approval from competent authorities, the tenders could not have been floated in April 2014,� he said, refuting the allegation that the process was stalled due to red-tapism.
