Jandhan target will be achieved before December – Nirmala Seetharaman

The finance ministry of the central government has informed that the target set for the Jandhan scheme, intended to extend the benefits of banking services to the entire public of all classes to enable them to opening bank accounts, will be achieved before the end of December.
The target set is that 7.5 Crores of new bank accounts to be opened before the next republic Day on 25th January, 2015. The Minister of State for Finance, Ms. Nirmala Seetharaman informed that this target will be accomplished before the end of December.
The minister informed that activities are under full swing towards realising this target. The Prime Minister, Mr. Narendra Modi, inaugurated the Jandhan Scheme on 28th August to facilitate the opening of new accounts for 7.5 Crore individuals who do not have bank accounts.
