A new mobile app to cut down your waiting time for 108 ambulance service

Posted on: 15/Oct/2014 2:27:04 PM
Make your emergency calls to 108 at lesser efforts from now. When you make a call needing an ambulance, it will no more require you to tell your name or location. Install the new Android App named GVK-EMRI. The application is developed so as to help out the public with easier calling options in case of emergencies. The application will gather your location and other details through GPS facility enabled in your smartphone.

Explaining about the functioning of the mobile application, Prabhudoss B, GVK-EMRI’s regional manager says the app is very easy to use. It ascertains the user’s location once when the user hits ‘call for help’ button. Following this, the latitude and longitude details will be transmitted to the emergency operator who will then forward the same to the nearest ambulance available in the locality.

The location of caller will pop-up on the ambulance driver’s map which will be of use for him to head towards the spot.

A hint on 108 services:

108 currently receives about 22,000 calls every day. The emergency cases are varied with pregnancy and road traffic cases topping the list.
