50,000 MORE SHGS TO BE ENCOURAGED IN TAMILNADU

K. Gopal , The Managing Director, The Tamil Nadu Corporation for Development of Women announced that it has been planned to form 50,000 more self-help groups (SHGs) across the State, He was participating in a review meeting held here recently, he said that the creation of new self-help groups in the State would help women particularly those in the rural areas to improve their socio-economic condition. Out of the total new groups, 1,450 would be established in Erode district.
About 1,450 groups to be set up in Erode district to help improve socio-economic condition of rural women. Later, Mr. Gopal handed over a sum of Rs. 51 lakh as loan to the Kavunthapadi panchayat level federation.
