Warning from Tamil Nadu Government to all �On-line� Traders

Tamil Nadu government has issued a warning to on-line traders that they should pay the taxes for the products sold on-line. Legal action will be taken on Failure to pay these taxes.
It may be noted it was recently established that some on-line traders have not been paying the taxes.
One of the on-line trading companies doing business of several crores of Rupees paid only a token amount as taxes. When all the bank transactions were checked, it was established that the on-line trading company had not disclosed sales amounting to several crores.
Tamil Nadu Government has categorically announced that these on-line traders should pay the taxes as per law. It has also insisted that the buyers must obtain receipt while making purchases on-line.
