Chennai Corporation to get back its leased properties

Chennai Corporation is gearing up to repossess 541 plots which are illegally under control by private people. The land is usually leased for a limit period of three years at cheap rates and after the lease period is over, the Corporation takes a call on replenishing the lease. However, many lessees have not paid even the low rates demanded of them. Now Chennai Corporation will be taking steps to recover these plots from the illegal people. As an initiative, the Chennai Corporation will be sending notices to the people who possess these 541 plots before taking action legally.
