CAMPAIGN FOR PAPERLESS GOVERNANCE IS ON.

There has been good response to the ‘Smart Card’ issued by the Corporation for the first time in Tamil Nadu to the vehicles being parked at Vaeinthaankulam new bus-stand, has prompted the local body to intensify its campaign for paperless governance at all levels by introducing more electronic hi-tech gadgets in its administration right from tax collection to imposing fine on parking violators.

More gadgets for tax, fine collection by Nellai Corporation Tax collection kiosks at select points planned, so that the residents can pay at their convenience

Biometric devices are introduced to collect the fingerprints of the beneficiaries under the Integrated Housing and Slum Development Programme being implemented within the corporation to improve the huts or reconstruct the houses and provide better infrastructure in the slums.

To provide the public any information regarding the functioning of the corporation, the local body plans to install touch-screen information kiosks in its central office and all four zonal offices.

With the complaints pertaining to violation of parking vehicles at new bus-stand and open defecation on the premises of the terminus, non-disciplinary fine system and no-parking fine collection system are to be introduced by activating WiFi on the new bus stand campus.

Similarly, the water tankers will be monitored through GPS and coin-operated tripod turnstile system will be introduced in the public toilets.
