TRAI: 95 crore telecom connections in India

According to reports from the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI), there are over 95 crore telecom connections in the country as of end of July 2014. To be precise, over 94,29,00,000 connections were found by end of June, says TRAI. This then got increased by 34 lakh and reached 94,64,00,000 by the end of July 2014.
Out of this, over 56 crore connections were found in urban areas an 38 crore connections in village localities. Interestingly, considering the overall population of the country, the total number of telecom connections is around 76 per cent of it, TRAI points.
