Waiting for the cooking gas cylinders to arrive at your door steps is a very common scene found at every household. This has become endless and the shortage seems to keep all housewives irksome!
Speaking to one of the city resident, she says she booked for a cylinder on 1st of August and did not receive it for a long time there was no response too. I had to get food from a hotel for my family, she pointed. It then happened only after registering a police complaint on 4th September. Upon complaining, the cylinder reached her place in no time.
According to the oil company officials, when a cylinder is not delivered within eight days of booking, the dealer is bound to face actions taken on him. This may even lead to cancellation of dealership, say officials. Despite these rules, households are left panicked due to cylinder shortage for quite some time.
Furthermore, the dealers try to sell cylinders in the black market by increasing the total number of cylinders used by consumers. Say, a house has received just 2 subsidized cylinders so far, the dealers mention it as 4 and create an artificial shortage.
