State Election Commission cancels by-polls

On Wednesday, the State Election Commission stated that by-polls for the post of Mayor of Tirunelveli and Tuticorin municipal corporations will take place on September 18. The State Election Commission also stated that elections for the post of chairperson of Ramanathapuram and Sankarankoil municipalities would also be held the same day (September 18). This has been cancelled since the preparation of the voters list of Coimbatore Corporation is half way through.
State Election Commission will announce a fresh date for the by-polls.
