Railway Minister Sadanandha Gowda Starts Presentation of Railway Budget 2014 - 15. Highlights of Railway Budget 2014 - 15 is given below....

  • On Daily Basis, Indian Railways moves daily the entire Population of Australia - Gowda.
  • Indian Railways set new target to become the largest Freight Carrier in World.
  • Indian Railways need to balance on Social and Commercial Obligations.
  • We need to focus more on Project Completion rather than to announce new projects.
  • In 30 years, only 4 projects were in progress.
  • Indian Railways need course correction immediately.
  • Minister starts to tell about the "Bitter Medicine" for fellow Indian Citizens.
  • In Past 10 Years, Indian Railways spent Rs.41,000 Crores for laying 3,700 Kms of Railway Lines.
  • Decline of Surplus Revenues. Nearly Rs. 5 Lakh Crores required for the ongoing new projects.
  • Indian Railways should not depend only on fares hike.
  • Indian Railways need to improve on High-Speed Networks.
  • Our Main motive is to extend the Passenger Friendly Services.
  • FOB, Escalators and Toilets will be built in all Stations.
  • Food Court is to be set in all stations.
  • CCTV Cameras is to be installed in all stations.
  •  RO Water Facility is to be installed in all stations.
  • Recent Hike in Fare and Tariff is to mop the additional Revenue of about Rs. 8000 Crores.
  • For Passengers safety, 17,000 RPF Constables will be in duty at any time.
  • For women safety, newly 4000 Women RPF Constables are to be recruited.
  • More Special Trains for Pilgrim Circuits.
  • Special Trains to Promote life and teachings of Swami Vivekananda.
  • Ticket Booking capacity in e-ticketing to be enhanced.
  • We will improve 7200 Tickets/Minute in e-ticketing. 
  • 1,20,000 users will be login simultaneously to book the tickets.
  • In some sectors, Speed of the Trains will be increased to 160 - 200 Km/h.
  • Wi-fi Connections will be introduced in all A-Class Stations.
  • Bullet Trains on Mumbai - Ahmedabad Route.
  • For all these projects, we need to seek the help of Cabinet nod to allow FDI.
  • Need to develop 10 New Metro Trains with State of the Art Facilities.
  • Outsourcing at 50 Major Stations.
  • In more Trains, on board Housekeeping to be Extended.
  • Feedback Service is going to develop through IVRS on Quality.
  • Diamond Quadrilateral on High Speed Trains to be launched on all over India.
  • In Northeast, 23 new Projects are underway.
  • Special Milk Tanker Trains will be introduced.
  • Temperature Controlled Storage Room is to be installed to preserve the fruits and vegetables.
  • New Stoppages were to be approved after the feasibility study.
  • 18 Surveys were taken for the new lines.
  • Railway Minister proposes for setting up of Railway University for Technical and Non-Technical Subjects with the Technical Institutes of India.
  • Digitalization to be made in all Railway Stations. Paper Free Stations will be made in next 5 years.
  • Railway Minister`s New Phrase - "Office-on-Wheels": Internet and Workstation Facilities on some select Trains.
  • 5 Jan Sadharan Trains to be introduced.
New trains in Rail Budget: 5 Jansadharan, 5 Premium, 6 AC, 27 express trains, 8 passenger, 5 DEMU & 2 MEMU services; 11 train extensions. Railway Minister ends his Budget Speech and Lok Sabha adjourned till 2 Pm after Railway Budget.
