Srirangam gearing up for Jaya visit today

Tamil Nadu chief minister J Jayalalithaa will be visiting her Srirangam constituency for the first time on Monday after AIADMK�s landslide victory in the Lok Sabha elections. The city has been put under tight security ahead of the visit.
A grand stage has been erected at the South Chithrai and West Chithirai street junction in Srirangam where the chief minister is expected to lay foundation stones for new schemes, dedicate completed projects and distribute welfare measures from 1.30 pm.
She is also expected to open the newly-built �Yathri Niwas,� which can accommodate around 1,000 pilgrims who come to Srirangam. A check dam across Cauvery in Kambarasmpettai would also be inaugurated.
